Remember when Evil Knievel tried to fly a rocket across Snake River Canyon in Idaho?
It was on Sept 8, 1974.
His chute opened prematurely, and he floated down into the canyon.
I was 10 years old at the time.

I remember that vividly. It was the same day that Ford pardoned Nixon. Political cartoonists had a field day with the Snake River Canyon and “Credibility Gap.”
