Supposedly they have “confused” sexual organs and traits due to this genetic condition at birth.
“5-alpha reductase deficiency is a condition that affects sexual development before birth and during puberty. People with this condition are genetically male, with one X and one Y chromosome in each cell, and they have male gonads (testes). Their bodies, however, do not produce enough of a hormone called dihydrotestosterone (DHT). DHT has a critical role in male sexual development, and a shortage of this hormone disrupts the formation of the external sex organs before birth.
Many people with 5-alpha reductase deficiency are assigned female at birth based on their external genitalia. In other cases, affected infants are assigned male at birth based on their external genitalia, often an unusually small penis (micropenis) and the urethra opening on the underside of the penis (hypospadias). Still other affected infants may be assigned either female or male at birth as their external genitalia do not look clearly male or clearly female.
During puberty, an increase in the levels of male sex hormones leads to the development of some secondary sex characteristics, such as increased muscle mass, deepening of the voice, development of pubic hair, and a growth spurt. The penis and scrotum (the sac of skin that holds the testes) may grow larger. People with 5-alpha reductase deficiency do not develop much facial or body hair. Most affected individuals are unable to have biological children (infertile) without assisted reproduction.”
Seems like using the sex chromosome test may be the best way to determine male/female in case of “confused” genitalia. If you have an X, you get to only play with men.
To complicate things even more, there are rare cases where the sex chromosome is XXY, XXYY, XYYY and even XYYYY. I think anyone with an X should play with men.
You have the chromosomes reversed. I think that you mean that Y indicates a male.
I think men and women should be determined by testosterone levels, if possible for Olympic competition. Perhaps tested proof of fertility.
Failing this I would suggest nude conformation judging, just like they do for dogs. This is supposed to be the quest for an ideal. I feel bad for people that nature has dealt cruelly with, but they shouldn’t be ruining things for everyone else.
BTW, this “problem” is about to get a whole lot worse - and the Liberals know it. What nature occasionally does, man is about to do on a far grander scale. I am talking about the young and the failed medical profession and the Liberals who prey on them. The young who have been sterilized by “puberty blockers” are going to mature, receiving whatever hormones the Liberals and their twisted “doctors” want to give them. Like moths to a flame, I am sure many will be drawn to the Olympic torch. The mockery seen at this year’s opening ceremony will seem tame by comparison.
As your post indicates, this issue can be complicated.
Suppose someone has Swyer Syndrome, for example.
That person would have XY chromosomes, but also a vagina, uterus, and fallopian tubes.
With hormone therapy, that person could menstruate.
That person could carry a pregnancy and give birth.
That person is a woman. She simply has a genetic condition.
If the above describes these athletes, then they are female, and they should be competing in women’s competitions.
