I met my ex on a dating app in 2020. I was ready to settle down, and he seemed to be too, so things got serious quickly. We bought a dog and picked out an engagement ring.
Then, it all fell apart when I learned he had three other girlfriends, all of whom thought they were exclusive with him.
I have a doctoral degree in public health, specializing in social and behavioral sciences. I'm a smart person, so I blamed myself for missing the signs — though even in retrospect, I couldn't see any.
Almost immediately, I realized there were only a few other people who could understand what I was going through: My ex's other girlfriends.
First, I told the three other women my ex had been seeing at the same time as me. All were very shocked, and none of them knew that he had been cheating on them. When I found out he'd cheated on previous partners, I messaged them, too. All in all, I got in touch with about 130 women.
All of the girlfriends were kind, compassionate, and smart. Most were Asian, like me, and professionals: lawyers, engineers, and artists.

“Every Woman’s Dream” 1995...Mitch tells one wife he’s working for the CIA... side wife, that he’s working for Disney. Years go by before they start to wonder.
Maybe some of these strong, independent women should have asked for some tangible proof of commitment, instead of confabulating his faithfulness in their own addled minds.
I could see this happening with up to 10 women, especially (and ironically) if they ARE busy professionals and mostly communicate via text messages.
But 130 is quite an impressive feat. It definitely show the intelligence, organization, creativity and motivation of ...... their BF.
I think there were a lot of very brief affairs, over a number of years. He "only" had four women on the line when he met the author. Assume the average duration of an "affair" is four months, stringing on four at once, works out to one new affair a month, so a little over ten years to hit 130. Sounds expensive and exhausting, but if you have the money and stamina...
I'm sorry.
I'll never do it again.
Until next time.
Bet he paid nothing. Women give it away for free to men they find attractive while making demands of men they feel they're settling for.
And men want kind, considerate women as wives, not driven, “intimidating” boss babes.
Excellent point—women with street smarts understand that.
“making demands of men they feel they’re settling for”
For men that is a red flag of big trouble, especially if the demands start to escalate.
“There have been movies about this, based on real situations.”
First of all, very few movies based on real situations bare any semblance to real life.
Second, females fanaticizing about revenge is not a very attractive personality trait.
If someone makes stupid choices, learn from your mistakes and change your decisions in the future. Don’t go fanticizing, much less acting on, revenge feelings.
“Probably part of the problem.”
Why?
Attracting them isn’t what made him a master. It was the juggling of the multiple relationships that was his talent.
Thank you so much for your wonderful insight. Do you have a side hustle as a Life Coach?
Well they ARE smart by liberal criteria.
Time? How about the blood flow to his pecker?
Any woman who thinks that advanced degrees in the behavioral sciences is proof that she is smart, is pretty dumb. Ha ha ha
I guess she’s going to have to keep buying cat food out of her own paycheck
Truly, these people are incapable of being embarrassed
