Once a woman has become a professional, she’s older and having to compete with younger chicks who don’t desire a professional degree but want to find a husband.
Consequently, to up her game, she has to give more and accept less. He probably, in many cases, did little more be well dressed and be willing to watch tv for the evening. She had to accept his terms in order to get anything from him at all.
