To: Tell It Right
That's an interesting anecdote.

One of the reasons I got into this task was that I was trying to see if the songs I've played the most frequently over the last 15+ years are actually the ones I like the most. There's a close correlation, but it's not a perfect one.

I've determined that a lot of people like listening to a song that reminds them of a time, even if their memories have nothing whatsoever to do with the lyrics of the song. Maybe they remember listening to the song as a kid while on vacation at the beach.

The song I posted, of course, has a direct correlation between the lyrics and the activity ("stand up for the Lord" being implemented by the "kids" who chose to do exactly that when they were grown).
