There's nothing better than experiencing music live. In fact, some of the best versions of classic songs are live versions.

Here is one for sure:
Procol Harum - A Whiter Shade of Pale, live in Denmark 2006

Many of the Allman Brothers tunes sound better on the Fillmore East live album — or at least epic in their own right — than the studio versions of those songs.
I prefer the Beach Boys’ “Heroes and Villains” live on the early ‘70s In Concert album to the studio version from 1967.
The Allman Brothers were arguably the best live band of their generation.
First I’d seen it, excellent indeed.
Rock and Roll All Nite - Kiss
“Galveston” by Glen Campbell.
Jeff Mezydlo was obviously a Peter Frampton fan. He takes up several spots with Frampton songs.
My two cents would nominate any song performed by Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, especially when they played at the Fillmore for 20 concerts in January and February, 1997. That’s my favorite set of live albums.
They did a great cover of “Call Me The Breeze”, written by JJ Cale, and performed previously by Lynyrd Skynyrd.
Those Frampton hits — plus Bob Seger’s “Turn The Page,” seem to be the most popular rock tunes of that era whose live versions are THE definitive versions of the songs.
Leonard Cohen - Hallelujah (Live In London)

I 100% agree & would add "Whipping Post" from the same live album to the list.
Heliopolis - Spyrogyra
Siberian Khatru - Yes
Roundabout - Yes
Sultans of Swing - Dire Straits
She’s Gone - Eric Clapton
Tears From Heaven - Eric Clapton
Dream Theme - Al di Meola
Squib Cakes - Tower of Power

David Gilmour playing “High Hopes” in Gdansk is much better/more moving than the album version
Old time rock and roll (live version) by Bob Seger.
Dire Straits
I only listen to live concerts on YouTube. Fewer commercials.
What was amazing about the Fillmore East album was that even though it was recorded, you could hear the energy and tightness of the band. They were playing off each other in a way no studio could replicate. It really was as if you were there.
ALICE IN CHAINS performance of "Love, Hate, Love" is astounding and YYYEEEEEAAAAAHHHHHHH!
Alice In Chains - Love, Hate, Love - Live at the Moore
BEST VOICE IN ALL OF ROCK AND ROLL HISTORY.
Rest in peace LAYNE STALEY.
I listened to that yesterday on the toob. No video, just audio. It has more material than the cassette that I used to own.
Don’t know how to do a general reply, but the two that come to my mind are:
“Wheel in the Sky” by Journey
“Big City Nights” by The Scorpions
