The first three were spaced with enough time between to check the targeting and adjust, like a professional would do (but Trump turned his head). After a pause, the next five were very closely spaced; chaotic, and lacking any time for a targeting check - like a wound up new-to-murder 20 year old might do.

A ninth shot closely followed the group of five (maybe the Butler PD shot that missed (or hit the assassin's leg?), and then 7 or so seconds later a final shot killed the assassin.
