Whoa - Rural King is showing a QUART of the Lucas PS Stop Leak for $16, online (free store pickup). And my RK credit card will give me a 5% rebate toward future RK purchases, too. We’ll be going right past RK today, so, I may well return the Wal Mart purchase...

How big was your PS fluid reservoir / can you guess how much Stop Leak you added? From drained, to “Cold Max”, the reservoir in this Outback looks like it’s somewhere between 6-8 oz. Cold Min to Cold Max (my usual refill of the leak) can’t be over a couple oz. or so. Might not be enough? To add more I’ll need to drain the reservoir. Tight, but doable without pulling the reservoir out, I think...

Noted on the time aspect — that seems reasonable for the stop leak to absorb into the gaskets and seals. Maybe a couple weeks if the car is used daily for roughly 50 miles trips (my wife going back and forth to work)?

One was a full sized car, the other a minivan., What the exact capacities are/were, I don't know.

In both cases, I seem to recall initially adding about half a quart of Lucas and then following up a week or two later with maybe half a quart and that was it. No further leaks.
