Perhaps if people actually took the time to read their history, I wouldn't have to do what I do. But make no mistake about it, this WILL be an audio book some day. Probably take me a year or three to get to it, not my highest priority at the moment, but it will be done. A few more thousand people who know will be a good thing.
We cannot allow the diseducation and maleducation that the government schools provide to persist any longer.
This is just a public service posting to those who are not "in the know" about Theodore Roosevelt's beliefs regarding progressive taxation/the graduated tax. Progressive taxation was something he SERIOUSLY wanted, and he spoke of it on a regular basis.
Even in unrelated speeches such as this one, a speech about journalists. Teddy couldn't help it. He wanted the graduated tax so badly he could taste it.
No reply needed.

Taft spoke to Congress urging it to create the Income Tax amendment. They passed it. It went to the states where it was adapted. It is the most destructive act to be placed into the Constitution. It turned a once free people into free range slaves. It grew the Federal Government into the all consuming beast it is today.

While I don't necessarily agree with all of the Calvinistic underpinnings of "The Pilgrims Progress," there are many descriptive elements of who man is, since John Bunyan wrote, that haven't changed in man's fallen nature.
A couple of other items to note. You are spot on about President Theodore Roosevelt and, of coarse, the many who came after him.
Additionally, you got it right when you talked about the inadequate education of what is taught as history to our citizenry.
