The day after Kamala Harris dropped out of the 2020 race, Radio host Karen Hunter noted that the black community did note vote for her in part because of her white husband:
“I’m just going to be honest with y’all. The White husband [Doug Emhoff] was a problem for a lot of people. But that said, you married him. Don’t hide him!”
