Yes, that’s my understanding. Since voters are actually voting for an elector, I believe that the electors have the ability to vote for their party’s candidate when it’s time for the electors to cast their votes in December, provided proper channels have been followed to replace the original candidate whose name still appears on the ballots. The name on the ballot is just a pointer, of sorts, so the voter can identify otherwise unknown electors. It would probably be more accurate for the ballot to show “Elector for Joseph Biden” in front of the box to be ticked.

Ok, so in those states listed in Bob Ireland’s post, (less NM and WA), what do the electors for Biden do? Vote for kammy even if her name isn’t on the ballot?

They can vote for Kameltoe, Karl Marx, or Captain Crunch for all I care and all the good it will do them.

It is likely to depress Democrat turnout up and down the ticket and that is good for Trump, the Republicans, and America.
