It could have been worse if anyone had been in the yard when it happened, and much worse if the truck crashed off an elevated roadway which have houses built right next to them.

If the hazmat truck is legit, they have beaucoup insurance. The homeowner's policy probably will not pay out a dime, unless they subrogate, i.e., pay the homeowner and then go after the trucking company themselves.
