A legend walks among us.

Shirley MacLaine, 90, made a rare public appearance in Malibu, California on Sunday.

The Hollywood icon had lunch at Kristy’s restaurant, which she also visited on the Fourth of July.

MacLaine wore a blue shirt with a zip-up jacket, black pants and red shoes. She also sported bright white hair and glasses and carried a small black purse.

Nope, that was 50 years ago and I put that shit behind me.

Do you enjoy living with hate for people who you have never met or who have never had any influence on your life whatsoever?

I don't.....

Must suck to be you.....

Must be why this is noted. I suppose her age makes this everyday occurance which might be becoming rare for her now also notable. That said even I have had lunch at an open air great view restaurant in Malibu. Place was called Jeffrey’s. I have even watched a Super Bowl at a bar there once ages ago.

“The Apartment” was brilliantly-constructed, and is heralded as one of the “great films of all-time.” And I used to enjoy it. But in hindsight, I think it only heralded - and assisted in - the destruction of the family, decline of masculinity and ascendancy of toxic feminism in America which has led to its current state of rapid decline.

She was good in Ocean’s 11, too.

“It just so happens I’m very much in demand”.

Her politics are not mine but she’s very likeable. My mother told me she was in love with Dean Martin but did not want to break up his family.

How true that is I don’t know but it’s not hard to believe any girl could not fall in love with Dean Martin.

She was beautiful in “The Apartment” which I consider to be one of the few perfect films: perfect casting, perfect acting, perfect writing, perfect directing, and perfect editing.

Parker was born in Los Angeles, California, the only child of actress Shirley MacLaine and businessman Steve Parker (1922–2001). MacLaine and her husband had an open marriage. At age two, Parker was sent to Japan to live with her father and his mistress. During the summer and at holidays, she visited her mother. They posed together on the cover of the February 9, 1959, issue of Life.

Parker said her parents were negligent and her father was verbally abusive, calling her "the idiot" and forbidding her to read. Parker was frequently left home alone while her father went out. As a teen, she was sent to boarding school in Europe. Parker recalled that one Christmas neither of her parents showed up to pick her up from boarding school when she was 14, stranding her in Europe for weeks. Parker intended to go to college but claims she was cut off financially from her parents at 17.

Yikes! Mommie Dearest.

I always liked that movie, but I admit, when I watched it again last year, the sad parts overshadowed the funny parts...I only remembered the funny parts.

That’s the only line from the movie that I remember, but I do remember I liked it at the time.

I didn't express any hate for her. And how do you know that I have never met her or that she never had any influence on my life?

It may be OK with you, it is not OK with me that she admires the most murderous regime in all of history.

For years, there were two parts that stuck out in my mind...

One was the flashback to when Debra Winger’s character was an infant, and Shirley McLaine as the mother kept waking up the infant every few minutes to see if it was still breathing (this was when SIDS was a big thing IIRC) and the other scene was her and Jack Nicholson in his Corvette driving in the water on the beach!
