The other day I watched a TV show with ads.
Most of the ads were for black television channels or streamers.
No wonder blacks are so entitled. They have separated culture and demand to overrun others.
And whites let them.
Crazy.
I always said that if extraterrestrial aliens were to view us from a distance, and only had our advertising, entertainment and news media to assess us, they would logically conclude that blacks make up 90% of the world population.
There is another reason also.
Stigma.
The language changes when the subject has stigm
Witness the changes from idiot to retarded to delayed.
Fine, then don’t call me “white”. If you go back far enough, I’ve got African ancestors.
that’s high YALLER… stupid autocorrect.
If he’s not from Africa then he’s not African American, black,
I detest that approach. To us, words have meaning for communication. To them, words have purpose for malice.
Her family owned blacks.
Don’t know when it started but it was “in vogue” by the early 19th Century.
Even during the period of the War Between the States, to call someone “black” was a stronger invective than the “N-word” or any of its ‘politer’ variants, in part because it also was applicable to Orientals & Indians (both red Indians and Asian Indians). In England and the Commonwealth countries, this is still the case today.
Remember the line in the classic film “Zulu” when Lt Bromhead said, “Damn the levies, man, more cowardly blacks!” That line was “period-correct.”
Remember the Helen Bannerman short story, “Little Black Sambo?” Sambo was (Asian) Indian, not black African.
True stigma attacks to a situation or condition and it is the situation or condition that makes the word undesirable.
Whatever, I just wish they’d settle on one word for themselves.
I’ll never use African-American. I have never met a black African American. I have met many Africans and a few WHITE African Americans.
All the African Americans I ever met were white and originally from South Africa or Rhodesia.
I say black and they can KMA if they don’t like it.
But in high school anthropology class, when we talked about the Neanderthals, and everyone looked at Ogg to confirm the characteristics, he kind of resented it.
Regards,
Pretty sure that's not it. It's more likely that the news and law enforcement want to downplay any potential apparent correlation between race and crime.
