I have recently become aware of a new shift in acceptable language. It happened at the assisted-living apartment where a loved one lives. I was trying to describe a specific maintenance worker who I’ve contacted before and was quickly corrected in the tersest manner by black aids that he was “African American.”
Wasn’t “Black lives matter” just a thing a few hours ago?

The Left does this to keep you off balance. At any given time, the “acceptable” language for anything can become a sign of incipient, if not outright racism, sexism, or some other “ism”.
They utilize their “control” of language (via media control, education, and government fiat) to set the tone. At any time they have a ready-made tar to spread on people they disagree with.
In his recent interview on BET, Joe Biden couldn’t remember the name of his Secretary of Defense, so he referred to him as “the Black man.”
I wonder if African Americans might be happier if they all went back to the home land they cherish so much?
They certainly want to identify with that continent, it seems. They should do so wholeheartedly.

Not all black people are African American. Some are, some aren’t. There are African (from Africa), African British etc. African American is a subset of all black people.
