IIRC Trump said in his speech that he doesn’t know why God saved him and not Corey. It’s an issue we deal with all the time. God has His reasons that He doesn’t always share with us. But that doesn’t change the fact that God did save Trump, and it would be ungrateful for Trump to not acknowledge that life and death is in God’s hands.
Survivor’s guilt is a soldier’s struggle with why God chose to let them live while another died. It’s a very real thing. How many parents wish it would have been they who got cancer instead of their child? The question of why God does what He does has been around forever and will always be with us in this life. But it doesn’t change the good that God does.
God has greatly blessed America. I can say that while at the same time grieving for people starving in Africa or Muslim women being stoned to death because they drove a car or went somewhere without a man present.
Trump did a beautiful thing honoring Corey, and a lot of other people whose lives were NOT miraculously saved like his was. It was up to God to decide who He allows to die, when, and how. Our job is to speak what God has done and thank Him for it, and to love and honor all precious lives. Trump did that and should not be faulted for it.
Trump did say that he was only going to be talking about this ONCE because its too painful to talk about..He has survivors guilt, its very common to happen..you can see it in his eyes, he looked like he was going to cry.
