Technically they can, but it’d be unwise. It would mean they’d have to count the EC votes from their state for either prez or VP, but not both.

I would guess they would say her residence is no longer California. They didn’t “run” together, they would also argue.

Butigieg’s been mentioned. Seems more likely.

VP selection needs to be voted on by Congress.

Just naming a VP isn’t a sure thing. Then again never under estimate the RINO’s ability to “Biden” things up.

She’ll go with a more moderate appearing white male. Kentucky Governor
They’ll run as one ticket. Campaign together.

Both Bush and Cheney were Texas residents in 2000.

Cheney simply changed his voter registration to Wyoming.

The only restriction Amendment XII creates pertains to votes in the Electoral College.

There is nothing to say President and VP cannot be from the same State, this wo;uld be particularly true for an appointed VP.

What is not allowed is for Electors from a State (California, in this case) to vote for two people from their State.

So, assuming that Harris and Newsom ran as a ticket, California’s 53 Electors could vote for Harris OR Newsom, nut not both.

Not to worry. As I have posted, over and over here since December 2022, Newsom/Whitmer is the ticket, this was decided a LONG time ago, the charade they are playing has two purposes:

First: When Biden steps down, a huge rush of air goes out of the GOP balloon. All the FJB retards will be so busy celebrating they may even forget to vote.

Second: There will be little time to start up an opposition to Newsom. This man has one of the biggest gender gaps in American politics (he has fantastic hair, after all), and he will play “those wascally wepublicans being MEAN to me for all he’s worth.

In two years, “Kamala Harris” will be the answer to a trivia question.

If Biden resigns and Harris assumes the Presidency, she certainly can nominate Newsom for Vice President for the remaining six months.

The 12th amendment only prohibits Electors from voting for more than one person from the same state as themelves.

Filling a vacancy is an act of Congress, not the Electoral College.

I don’t think she lives in California anymore. She can run from DC or Maryland or Virginia.

What does Newsom get her? She better off picking a running mate from Pennsylvania Michigan or some state like that.

One would need to change their state of residency as Bush/Cheney 2000 did. They were both Texans, but Cheney changed to Wyoming.
