Paris Olympics opening ceremony is thrown into chaos as performers threaten to go on strike over pay and conditions with just a week to go before £3,000-a-ticket show on the Seine

French trade unionists are threatening to bring chaos to the Paris Olympics as dancers signed up to perform filed a strike notice just one week before the opening ceremony, citing low pay and 'glaring inequalities in treatment'.

With just a week to go until the lavish boat procession down the River Seine, available tickets cost between £700 and £2,200, with hospitality packages more than £3000.

Such figures for a ceremony lasting less than four hours have incensed the unions, who say that profits are not being shared with ordinary workers.

We’re Delta people, I don’t think Munich is a big hub for them. JFK or Schiphol is what has worked for us. We did do a flight thru Boston recently to get back from Portugal. Boston does have a big Portuguese-American population, so that made some sense.

Flying out of ATL, I’m annoyed at ever having to change planes to get somewhere.

;-)

I’m only interested in seeing how much skimpier and more revealing the female athlete’s uniforms will be this time. Particularly the divers. Also whether the cameramen will gratuitously follow behind them as they walk around, as in the past. Sex sells, I guess.

Last time we went to Paris, we flew into Orly. Much better option.
