Interesting how closely they follow our election, how well-informed they are on American politics.
Honestly if the rest of the world (not including Canada, Western Europe, Australia which are too spoiled and leaning deludedly to the left at the moment....)
But if EVERY OTHER major country were voting...I even include countries we consider “enemies” and totally different religions — there’d be NO CONTEST. TRUMP WOULD WIN!
The Japanese couldn’t believe that the US voted Obama as a President. They understood what he represented and intended to do.
I’m here now and it took them a few hours to even run the story. I was pretty surprised at how long it took them, but they’ve been quite objective about it.
Their newspapers are very good.

All do a good job of covering international news.
They all are connected to the kami principle, it is an indelible part of their culture. They all intrinsically know that the kami saved Trump's life. That is to say it would have been kami from their point of view that have protected President Trump, It also puzzles them why Shinzo Abe did not have such protection from the kami.
Interesting. Certainly smarter and more well spoken than on the street interviews in the USA. Clearly most were “up” on the issues.
Mainly left me impressed with Japan.
I will say, the handful of bitter anti-Trumpers in the mix look just like typical leftists in the USA. There’s a “look” that spans countries.
I am reminded of several Japanese politicians who have been assassinated in the past. One not long ago with home made firearm, the Mayor of Nagasaki several years ago with a firearm to an early one in the 1960s of one being stabbed by a youth.
