She raises the issue more emphatically than I do. Common sense tells you that this whole thing makes no sense unless of course, the SS is more incompetent than we think. Which might be a possibility.

I don't know whether this was an inside job or not. But from everything I've heard, it is (to me) a lot more likely that the SS, Staties and locals simply screwed up, and perhaps there was a little cowardess on the part of the LEO who backed away from the assassin, instead of engaging him, or at least raising holy hell and alerting the SS and/or Staties.

Consider this: If you were going to assassinate a politician or candidate for office, would you really choose a 20 year old wack job as your trigger man?
