Yes, indeed. But who would pick a 22LR to pull off this shot? I’d think it would be a rank amateur with little training and little practice. 130 yards would be a bit of a challenge for such a person, especially if the adrenaline is pumping.
As a disclaimer, I’ve read that the shooter used a 22LR. And that’s what I’m basing my remarks on. If it actually was another caliber, all bets are off.
Why 22LR?
* low recoil
* relatively lower noise
* easy to carry a lot of ammo
* very affordable ammo
* relatively very affordable, lightweight weapon & optics
I only posited 22LR to demonstrate that this is not an impossible shot with a pistol/revolver. It would be even easier with a scoped rifle.
I’ve seen it done by brand-new shooters (aka “rank amateurs”), with a pistol, with iron sights (no scope), within 6 rounds of getting the gun in their hands.
How do you know how much practice the shooter had?
