Richard Simmons -- the legendary fitness guru -- has died at 76 ... TMZ has learned.
Law enforcement sources tell TMZ ... police and fire responded to a call from his housekeeper just before 10 AM Saturday and pronounced him dead at the scene. We're told no foul play is suspected at this time, and cops are looking into it as a natural death.

Simmons wasn’t really a fitness guru.
He encouraged women to exercise.
He went for hair plugs, plastic surgery, tummy tucks.
I remember being a kid and saw him on Merv Griffin before he got household name famous talking about all these things, the hair transplant, tummy tucks.
What a vulgar, classless comment.
Now being reported he took a fall last night and it may be related to his death
I think I heard his mind was slipping badly.

So we learn from this that fitness might not help you live longer, but it does keep you busy.
Not really - basically nobody dies from HIV/AIDS in the United States these days. The treatments are extremely effective.
LOL !!! My Mom-Mom (Paternal Grandmother) lived to 103, out living all 3 of Her Sons. She drank a least 1 Bloody Mary a day, smoked unfiltered Camel cigs, ate bacon and eggs pretty regularly and Her hamburger was tossed into a smoking hot pan grab the spatula and flip the burger, grab a plate and put the burger on the plate.
Being born in 1901 She survived and saw a lot of stuff. WWI, Great Depression, WWII, Korean War, JFK wetworks,Viet Nam, GWI and GWII, Grand Children and Great Grandchildren, etc. She didn’t have any cognitive problems until the last couple of years.
I hope he found peace. He seemed like a troubled soul.
Staying busy is the key. How many people do you know who ‘can’t wait to retire’ and keel over dead a year later?
I just read about him a few weeks back.
He was always an interesting person. Obviously strange, but it kept your attention.
He wanted people to be healthy.
He was a large man for most of his life. Probably it did a ton of damage to his heart before he became a “guru.”
Sometimes you can’t undo that bad stuff.
I believe AIDS still has a significant negative impact on life expectancy. The establishment buries inconvenient information.
My wife enjoyed his videos. She found them inspiring and encouraging. At least he had a positive impact on some peoples’ lives.
My mom smoked two packs of cigarettes a day until she quit five years before her death and her last sit up was probably in high school.
She out did Simmons by 4 years.
To give her credit she did have four children and a husband to keep her worked out!
I never understood what people saw in Buckaroo Banzai either. Same as Napoleon Dynamite.
