Dr. Ruth was another harmless diversion. She always had a smile despite her family being killed by the Nazis in the Holocaust. Lucky for Dr. Ruth, her family packed her off to school in Switzerland in 1938. And she was very nearly killed by the Arabs in a mortar attack in 1948.
