Major Russian bot farm uncovered by DOJ
Tool Report ^ | 07/12/2024 | Martin Crowly

Posted on 07/12/2024 7:11:44 PM PDT by SeekAndFind

The Department of Justice (DOJ) has discovered that a Russian bot farm, with over 900 AI-generated fake social media accounts, has been spreading propaganda and disinformation around the US and other countries.

What has the bot farm been posting?

Most of the AI-generated fake profiles look like they belong to American citizens, with biographical information, political ideologies, locations, personas, backstories, photos, friends, and families, and have been posting videos, content, and images to support Russia’s invasion of Ukraine and other pro-Kremlin initiatives. One of these fake profiles professed to be a Bitcoin enthusiast and a free speech absolutist, from Minneapolis, who was opposed to the New World Order.

Who created the bot farm?

The DOJ has confirmed that an ‘unnamed’ RT (Russia’s state-owned media outlet) editor was responsible for the bot farm after RT leadership approved plans to “distribute information on a wide-scale basis.”

How was the mass-bot farm created?

The ‘unnamed’ RT editor bought two domain names that they then used to create two email servers which were then used to create 968 email addresses, which were then used to create fake social media accounts. AI-enabled bot farm generation and management software–Meliorator–was used to generate the images, videos, and personas for each of the 968 profiles. Most of these profiles were generated on X (formerly Twitter) as security restrictions can be more easily bypassed, using specific software.

Although X has since suspended the fake accounts for terms of service violations, it’s not known how many people followed them or integrated with their content, so investigations will continue.

--- "And how do we know it wasn't one of the feddies TLAs that created the bot-farm? We don't."

But we know some things from the "news" article.

We know that this "media" is relatively new. whois query on aitoolreport.com

Domain: aitoolreport.com
Registrar: NameCheap, Inc.
Registered On: 2023-04-12

The article does not reference ANY Department of Justice articles to support the aitoolreport prose.

That aitoolrport page also links to NO actual address for the organization, which seems located in Texas, and seems a small-time operation. The site links to another: whois query for workinai.com

Domain: workinai.com
Registrar: NameCheap, Inc.
Registered On: 2023-04-22

That site, promising links to potential AI employment has a Terms of Service page which is laughably incomplete. Such as: "How do we use your information? Dolor enim eu tortor urna sed duis nulla. Aliquam vestibulum, nulla odio nisl vitae. In aliquet pellentesque aenean hac vestibulum turpis mi bibendum diam. Tempor integer aliquam in vitae malesuada fringilla."

That "place holder" text shows they used a standard web page template and have as yet NOT finished their design are replaced the "place holder Latin: with any actual "terms of service." So much for their AI advice. And by the way, so much for their "terms of service."

But these web pages are most interested in YOU. Your email and even a potential account giving up more personal information to them is the game afoot. Moreover, they encourage becoming involved with another site -- beehiiv.com -- which sells its users the notion of "monetization" for creating email addresses with them. Caution.

As to the DOJ, it's perhaps best to wait for a link to an actual DOJ report.

Best wishes.

Have you shared your information with the moderators....

The "information" is right out in the open for everyone to see. Even the threats made against my person. I'm not asking for anyone to get "zotted", although some individuals have wished that on me. I just want the site readers in general to have an idea of what they're seeing. It bears an eerie similarity to a Russian military journal article that Keir Giles quotes on page 73 of his book "Russia's War on Everybody". Article title (in translation) being: "Information Psychological Warfare in Modern Conditions Theory and Practice", page 107. Since it's dead tree book material, I'll have to transcribe it for you, if you don't want to buy the book. Phrases like "direct lies" and "Simplification, confirmation and repetition" are standouts.

Why not post the names of Russian botters on a website? Then we can check for names we have long considered suspect. Would that be so difficult?

The NSA looked at the size of the Russian bot farm, and just just couldn’t stop laughing.

Most of the AI-generated fake profiles look like they belong to American citizens,

Whose argumentation likely engages in accusing anyone who opposes Putin's invasion - and suppression of evangelical faith - of supporting the Left and Ukraine's adoption of it, as if one cannot be opposed to both, which are at war with each other for world domination, and to the advantage of China and fundy Islam.

Of course, the Soviet Union had its operatives in the US during WW2, and I am sure warnings then about the nature of Stalin were opposed by them.

However, supporting Putin does not itself necessarily mean one supports the decline of America. which also is overall has been long engaging in a suicidal war against God.

I believe nothing that comes out of the current DOJ. They are scammers and liars. Purely operate politically to destroy opponents of this evil Biden regime.

Martin Crowly is just a deep state bot farm a persona, and the article posted is itself, AI generated propaganda and disinformation.

The same entity that told you the Clinton's were innocent, and that Trump was colluding, and the border was secure, and children in cages, and ivermectin and Hydroxychloroquine were poison, and two weeks to flatten the curve, and six feet works, and Catholics and parents at school board meetings are the greatest terrorist threat, and Trump raped E. Jean. Carroll, and the economy is just great now, and Americans are enjoying a hiring boom and cheaper groceries - is the same entity that is now telling you that Ukraine is not a corrupt neonazi infected laundromat that is only fighting for "Freedom".

Think about it.

Doxxing people is against the law.
You might want to have a chit-chat with Jim about that.
The next zeeper trash that thinks it’s a good idea to doxx me, will have a big problem on their hands.

In the USA, the bot farms are the American media, especially the print media.

The number of bots (journalist) are run by The New York Times, Washington Post and Chicago Tribune.

Likewise, and it seems more likely it'll be me that gets doxxed, given the repeated threats of physical harm made against me. Although it would take the assistance of a moderator or JR himself to accomplish, using FR resources, so I'm not worried.....(um...should I be?)

Looking a little deeper into Martin Crowley....

Martin Crowley

Connected with "beehiiv.com"

"Austin, Texas, United States" and lists AI Tool Report and Loyola U in Chicago as his references. His LInkeIn link to a "Personal Website" returns one to "https://www.linkedin.com/redir/redirect?url=aitoolreport%2Ecom&urlhash=ICIP&trk=public_profile_topcard-website"

Martin Crowley via LinkedIn

"🦾 0–500k subscribers in 10 months
A conversation with AI Tool Report founder Martin Crowley"

"This week, we're featuring Martin Crowley, whose newsletter, AI Tool Report, has existed for barely 10 months and already has over 500,000 subscribers and some $100,000 in monthly revenue."

"Creator Spotlight" February 23, 2024

As with so much on the web these days, one can peek behind the curtain. The Crowley article was 1) lacking any actual references, 2) promoting traffic to himself, and 3) ultimately this stuff is all about money, money and money.

Not actually AI at all, but rather good old-fashioned BS of the modern snake oil variety. Anyone who signs up, gives up their email addresses and more, is the "business at hand."

A little "AI Tool Report" -- a very small operation located in Texas -- wants to get in on the "big data" bonanza.

And the quote above demonstrates this: "...Martin Crowley, whose newsletter, AI Tool Report, has existed for barely 10 months and already has over 500,000 subscribers and some $100,000 in monthly revenue."

Subscribers? Translation: those who have given this Texan originally from Chicago their email addresses, at a minimum, and probably even more personal data. Ka-ching!

Like two plus years of monetized YouTube videos posted to FR, it comes back to KA-CHING.

And of course that's what these last years of various media-driven panics and government corruption have been all about. Money. Money. Money. Biden-style. Fauci-style. Gates-style. Clinton-style. Obama-style. So many wannabes. And Crowley of Austin, Texas, has climbed into that ring with "some $100,000 in monthly revenue."

That’s the same movie we’ve seen before: Russian bot farms elected Trump! If they don’t steal elections as in 2020, the next step is Russia, Trump, investigation, Muller, whores pissing and fooking everyone in sight, and on, and on and on. So predictable…

So the Ruskies have bot farms. Well, so does the rat party, the ChiComs and everyone else. And FR is infected with them.
