Cary Grant's public persona was that of a charming, sophisticated, and just plain cool leading man. But in reality, "Cary Grant" was just another character he played on film. Even Cary Grant's name was a part of his well-crafted and carefully maintained image; fans who know about his personal life will tell you he was born Archibald Alexander Leach. A look at any Cary Grant biography reveals a troubled and conflicted man underneath that polished exterior.
He Was Known As A Cheapskate

Just saw it again recently. A magnificent film
Fact # 19 - What brand toenail clipper did he use?
They’ve said the same kind of things about Bob Hope.
Well, that was more than I needed to know
“ … and you won't believe what happened next! ”
He made up the coolest name.
Amen to that. And I had a crush on Eva Marie Saint. And the years rolled by, and then I see her portraying Tom Hanks’ mother in “Nothing in Common”, with Jackie Gleason. I said, “Oh my, Eva! We have both gone over the hill!” But actually, she aged pretty well, compared to many.
One of the greatest of all time. Don’t really care about his personal life though that story about his mother is pretty wild.
and you dont pay prostitutes for sex
you pay them to leave after
I knew most of those facts.
I’m not the jealousy type but I had a co-worker who spoke to Grant on a phone call, when he was on the board of directors of Faberge. Oh so jealous of her.
My favorite favorite actor.
Two of several odd facts:
Cary forced his 4th wife, Dyan Cannon to take LSD with him.
He contacted Good Housekeeping, hoping to write an article on promoting LSD use as therapy.
When 9 years old, Cary was told by his Dad, that Cary’s mom was taking a vacation. His father later told him, she had died. 30 years later, Cary got a letter. His Mom was still alive! She said she had been committed to a hospital by Cary’s father. He reunited with his Mom, but it was never that close. Too much had happened.
Eva Marie Saint just turned 100 on July 4.
I agree, but that does not explain why you posted this.
Cary and Grace-----super-star power.
Cary made his bones as a he-man after a week-end with Mae West.
Two of my most favorite Cary Grant movies are Mr. Blandings Builds His Dreamhouse and Room for One More. They were departures from his usual dashing bachelor roles.
Father Goose. He was quite an irascible slob. No tailored suit.
The cropduster scene was absurd. He could easily have crept deeper into the cornfield after each pass by the plane, pull a few leaves off to camo himself, lay low, and wait for the plane to need gas and leave or land.
Then the skilled pilot flies into the side of the bulk fuel truck. ????
As one very familiar with agriculture, I would have been curious as to why a cropduster would be dusting bare ground, in the fall, as seen before attacking Grant.
