I don’t know if prevents skin cancer, but there’s no doubt in my mind that it can protest against sun burns

So many questions. Was the sunscreen applied properly? Was the sunscreen re-applied after a period of time? When did the increase of skin cancers occur, in the past three years? (yes, I went there!)

I’ve got very fair skin. Sunscreen works for me. Covering up works too!

Maybe it's just that if you are Swedish no amount of sunscreen is enough?

I think Vit D levels affect cancer levels more than under use of sun screen.

Notice it didn’t say anything about sunburn. It does protect against burn but funny how increase in sunscreen goes with increasing in skin cancer. No one is saying this. Use a zinc oxide and tallow mixture or get a protective tan over time and also cover up. But we do need sun exposure and no cancer causing chemicals being absorbed by our skin

Swedish researchers at the Umeå University argue that there´s not enough evidence proving benefits of sunscreens.

That has been controversy for decades.

I believe that unless a person fully immerses themselves in a tank of sunscreen, they get a false sense of security because without the sense of burning, they stay out longer not realizing portions of unprotected scalp, eyelids, etc are getting blasted and it only takes one cell to mutate into a malignancy.

Full body immersing in a tank one time is not enough, periodic re-immersions are needed.

Pretty sure that this is not the case.

My mom died way too young due to skin cancer probably triggered by too much sun tanning back when it was fashionable.

Spend a lot of time outdoors and have used sun screen religiously since then.

According to my dermatologist it's made a huge difference preventing skin damage over the years.

Never use it. I don’t like the idea of spreading chemicals all over my body when your skin absorbs EVERYTHING you put on it. Don’t wear makeup, have never dyed my hair and the last time I permed it was in the 80’s. I firmly believe one of the reasons women experience so much hair loss as they get older is because they put so many chemicals on it over the years changing the color. I go with what God gave me, and my husband loves it.

I use mud. I saw it in a documentary when I was a kid. This guy named Dutch Schaefer used it to prevent burns when operating in the jungle.

It works well but you have to work harder to get laid.

If I go to Myrtle Beach and use sunscreen, I have a great week. If I go to Myrtle Beach and don’t use sunscreen, I have a terribly painful week. That’s use enough for me.

I rarely use sunscreen, but I use very good skin lotion containing retinol and collagen to make sure my skin is moisturized. That said, I have had 15-20 basal cell carcinomas over the last 40 years. The last four I had I cured using a baking soda/DMSO/Iodine/Hydrogen Peroxide mixture. I apply it to a Band Aid and let it work on the cancer overnight. It might take a few months to cure it, but it does work.

Referencing protection from the sun, I did have a few outside jobs in my teens and 20s but spent most of my career as an engineer in an inside environment. My brother, on the other hand, worked in the oil field for probably a decade in CO, WY, and NE. He never used sunscreen back then and probably worked 10-14 hours a day. Never had any skin cancer as far as I know.

keep your immune system up and your body deals with sun exposure fine, and you don’t have possible exposure to cancer via ingredients in sunscreen.

There are reports that sun screen can cause lymphoma. I’ve had skin cancer and lymphoma, and I can tell the lymphoma was a much worse experience.
