Southern Australia is freezing. How can it be so cold in a warming climate?

LOL, that’s why I do these postings! It’s still better than trying to explain-away the Neocon position on Ukraine. That is PATHETIC.

The planet needs to ask permission of the “experts” before it is hot or cold or anything else...

*Now, latitude they are pretty close. 37 and some change.*

Yes but you see-
That’s what I was getting at.

Strange some areas with the same latitude have different weather patterns. Could it be the earth spins at an angle?

So why aren’t the people in the Southern Hemisphere upside down?

They told me in school that “longitude” is the long part of the ladder. But it doesn’t help. “Latitude” also has a “ladda” in it, and that makes things confusing.

Maine is located about 1,500 miles south of the Arctic Circle

The closest part of Australia to Antarctica is from the Southernmost point of Tasmania to the Antarctic coast (that's the Antarctic Circle) which is 2288 kms away 1421.697 miles.

It does get cold in the dead of winter in either hemisphere.

There could be an advantage if Climate Change is hitting Australia hard ... won’t have as many “Fruit” in the frigid climate.

It is easy if you remember there are Parallels of Latitude. The Latitude lines are parallel to each other from the North Pole to the South Pole.

Then you remember the Prime Meridian (it cuts through Greenwich, England) and then think that the Meridians of Longitude are perpendicular lines going through or connecting from the North Pole to the South Pole but starting from the Prime Meridian.

Thinking of it that way is almost poetic.

I’ve heard that before. Just about anything that happens to the weather is climate change and man’s fault.

But let’s face it, we need to trust the science. Politicized scientists would never lie to us.

So why aren’t the people in the Southern Hemisphere upside down?

I've never been there, so I can't say that they aren't.

But the ultimate conspiracy theory about the weather is that "global warming" and "climate change" are just the coverup.

The earth is shifting and increasing its tilt, so summers are hotter and winters are colder. (They do admit that the spin rate of the core has changed, but not the gyroscopic effect that that has caused).

Of course, all that is predicated on the theory that the earth is roundish rather than flat. So the Flat Earthers are probably part of the conspiracy, as well.

In any event, everyone living on the earth is going to eventually die.

In parts of southern Africa it’s common for nighttime temperatures to dip to 30F in July.
