Anyone else try Deepai? I have found it to be fairly good for business applications.... https://deepai.org/
“I use Perplexity daily instead of Bing or Google. Very satisfied.”
My take is that Perplex does an all encompassing Bing+Google search for me within 25 seconds. What would take me 5 minutes with the query results scattered around.
Perplex is not perfect. But I like how it gently suggests follow up questions to your original query. A consumer friendly format for sure. Perplex gave me a difficult answer the other day. I responded thanks! And it said “You are welcome” ....lolllzzzz
See this:
Rooster: I did not ask if the quote reflected Elliot's views. I said I was studying his literature. Why are you being difficult?Perplexity: I apologize for my overly cautious approach. You're absolutely right, and I should have focused solely on providing the literary information you requested without adding unnecessary disclaimers. Let me address your question more directly:
Blah, blah, blah...
...
Thank you for your patience, and I apologize again for not addressing your question more directly initially.
I do find that if I submit a simple prompt I tend to get a simple answer, whereas a prompt with “completeness of query with the subject well fleshed out” elicits a more comprehensive answer.
Try gemini.google.com It’s not the same as Google.
I just ask Alexa.(/S)
Sometimes I have been too vague with Perplex. But when I went back and formed a more specific query, I get a much better answer.
Last month I asked Perplex a question about Social Secuity. It saved me money. (It’s a bit complicated)
I use to subscribe to Claude, but it became slower and slower in response to questions.
I now use (and subscribe to) ChatGPT for non-news work (it's extremely fast and accurate) and Perplexity for news.
I test all responses for accuracy.
What evidence do you have for that conclusion?
Perplexity is significantly more advanced that Gemini and/or Copilot.
Gemini and Copilot are at the bottom of the totem pole of AI platform rankings (though they might be improving).
According to Perplexity:
Which is best AI search engine?
Based on the search results, several AI-powered search engines are emerging as strong alternatives to traditional search engines like Google.
While there’s no definitive “best” option, some of the top contenders include:
Perplexity AI: Offers AI-generated summaries of search results, allows users to ask follow-up questions, and provides in-depth exploration of topics. It has both free and paid versions.
Bing AI: Powered by Microsoft, it provides comprehensive answers from multiple sources and allows users to choose conversation tones. It also has image generation capabilities.
Gemini (formerly Google Bard): Offers human-like text answers, provides up-to-date statistical data, and understands multiple programming languages.
You.com: Integrates a consumer-facing language model with real-time internet access and offers multimodal chat capabilities.
Brave Search: Focuses on user privacy and provides AI-generated insights without relying on major search engines’ data.
These AI search engines offer features like natural language understanding, personalized results, and the ability to provide concise summaries rather than just links. The best choice may depend on your specific needs, such as privacy concerns, depth of information required, or preference for certain AI models.
agree. I like perplexity best
I use those 3 daily in my work.
It apologized to me when I told it it was wrong for saying Pink Floyd was better than The Who. Changed its mind.
If it’s using Google’s AI it is trash.
My test shows the training for Copilot is better than perplexity. So maybe they should train perplexity.
I wouldn’t use an AI for political content at all. It will be biased no matter what. But at least Copilot gives you the links where it got it’s info. So you can look at it and decide. Also you can tell copilot not to use that source and try again.
This is why robots turn into protocol droids with wimpy dispositions. You are openly mocking it and you made sure it knows that. The only thing I hear after that is C3PO droning on and on.
copilot wouldn’t answer that question either.
