Perplexity is developed by Anthropic who also developed Claude. They are designed to be conversational (i.e., polite).

I use to subscribe to Claude, but it became slower and slower in response to questions.

I now use (and subscribe to) ChatGPT for non-news work (it's extremely fast and accurate) and Perplexity for news.

I test all responses for accuracy.

If you ask Perplexity what it is it used to say Claude but not anymore. Is it a separate LLM or just a front end to Claude or whatever? Since Claude and Perplexity are both from Anthropic I’ve got to think there is a lot of crossover.
