I got onto Perplexity for its evasiveness.
See this:
Rooster: I did not ask if the quote reflected Elliot's views. I said I was studying his literature. Why are you being difficult?Perplexity: I apologize for my overly cautious approach. You're absolutely right, and I should have focused solely on providing the literary information you requested without adding unnecessary disclaimers. Let me address your question more directly:
Blah, blah, blah...
...
Thank you for your patience, and I apologize again for not addressing your question more directly initially.

This is why robots turn into protocol droids with wimpy dispositions. You are openly mocking it and you made sure it knows that. The only thing I hear after that is C3PO droning on and on.

lol Go, Rooster! Stupid thing should be able to tell the difference.
Just for the sake of completeness, I got to Chatgpt and asked it; I was given almost the exact same answer as Perplecity. When I pointed out a definite line, Chat recognized it but made the excuse that "the work in question is seldom discussed."
So that silly thing only wants to give me popular results? I can see absolutely nothing wrong with that! lol
