Footage shows the moment a Mercedes driver slapped a boy with autism for bending the car's hood ornament.
The unidentified motorist is seen smacking ten-year-old Alfredo Morales seconds after surveying the damage Monday, which would cost around $500 to fix.
The car itself costs just north of $146,000, and was purchased just over a year ago from a dealership in Southern California, a vehicle history report shows.
The filmed attack took place at Laurel Canyon Boulevard and Osbourne Street in Pacoima, according to KTLA. The man's license plate was shared by the person behind the camera afterwards.
In the footage, the boy's Spanish-speaking sister tells the sunglass-clad driver 'sorry, [my brother] is autistic' - after which he slaps the boy and walks off. A police report has been filed by the boy's family.
The network identified the boy as 10-year-old Morales, and confirmed from his family has autism.
'Sorry, he is autistic', the woman is heard saying in the original clip, captured on a cellphone. 'He has special needs.'
The man, not swayed, proceeds to move towards the siblings, as the woman is seen trying to simultaneously calm the boy and plead his case.
Within seconds, the man is standing over the two, and quickly cocks his hand back to hit him. He strikes the boy's face with an open palm, before sternly pointing his finger at the now-cowering youngster

The “autistic” kid should be checked out.......that’s a common practice by these greedy illegals.
They get a crooked doctor to say a kid’s autistic b/c they get hefty SS tax paid benefits every month for the kid.
The maximum possible disability benefit for autism in 2024 is $943 per month for SSI and about $3,822 per month for SSDI. These maximums apply regardless of what condition you have or whether you apply with one condition or multiple. The actual amount received depends on specific circumstances. (Dec 7, 2023)
Disability Living Allowance (DLA) is a key benefit for children under 16 living with disability, including autism. It is assessed according to care needs, and a diagnosis is not required to make a claim. DLA helps cover the extra costs of raising a child with a disability. (Jan 30, 2024)
And it’s a sure bet they lie about their “circumstances.”
I work primarily with kids on the Spectrum. You are correct — the parents/guardians are using the “He’s autistic...” crap to try to make a cover for their crappy parenting. More likely, the kids a brain damaged drug baby.
Give me a classroom of students with ASD or Down Syndrome or a host of other diagnoses and I’m in Heaven. 99% of the time, they’re preferable to gen pop kids.
The hood ornament is on a spring-loaded swivel, but it has a limited movement of about 45° total.
If you try to push it all the way back or forward, you will bend it.
They've always been chrome-plated pot metal. (zinc)
They can can be moved about 45° total. Anything more and they will bend.
“Ask any parent of an autistic kid from decades ago. You had to jump through hoops when getting your kid tested for autism. Now it’s done and determined in one office visit.“
I well remember the autistic class in my elementary school back in 1966. They looked different, their facial expressions and reactions were somehow identifiable. They often looked angry, confused or as I put it at the time stormy eyed. There were several who somehow gave the impression of great intelligence simply when they looked at you. There was no spectrum in 1966. You were autistic or you weren’t.
Stupid kid, not autistic at all. But the driver is going to pay a LOT more than $500 when their abogado gets on his case. Easy $20k settlement to avoid an L.A. ghetto jury.
If only he’d had a Rolls where the Spirit of Ecstasy can disappear when needed.
Good. I bet the boy remembers that lesson. I remember in the 80s and 90s rappers wore Mercedes emblems on their necklaces and little thugs stole them all.
“””My question is, in what way did the boy “bend” the hood ornament? Those ornaments are swivel-mounted and spring-loaded, so that if it gets bumped it flexes to the side and then flips right back to its “home” position.

As a Mercedes owner I can attest that what you say it true. And I have had to replace the hood ornament on two occasions because some person broke it.
“ My question is, in what way did the boy “bend” the hood ornament? Those ornaments are swivel-mounted and spring-loaded, so that if it gets bumped it flexes to the side and then flips right back to its “home” position. I think the boy merely touched it, which he should not have done. But I also suspect the owner is an arrogant bleep who demands that we swoon over his ride, but God forbid anyone touch it. In reality, that ornament ATTRACTS the attention of any normal kid and practically entices him to give it a closer look and a touch. JMHO.”
Exactly! Consider that some childhood vaccines contained contaminants which can bring on neurological damage resulting in autistic behavior in some children. Thus normal reactions to events my not be exhibited as expected in an autistic individual.
A mentally ill child who does $500 worth of damage when he is allowed out in public should be confined to his home or one run by the state.
And the proper statement for the sister is, “sorry, I’ll make sure he won’t do it again, and our parents will pay for your damage.”
Spare the rod, spoil the child is true now more than ever!!

= = =
Exactly. I have owned one (an old one, gone now), and the ornament gets pushed to the side, and is easily pushed back.
Because those German engineers knew people and things would touch/hit that susceptable ornament.
And if someone steals it. Easily replaced. Probably not cheap, but fixed with no other damage.
Autism comes in grades. My best friend’s son is level 2 and will depend on her forever - this was uncalled for.
I guarantee if this kid had a similar diagnosis, he’s bound to be tactile. My friend’s son is always touching things, and hypersensitivity is a factor at play in this. He genuinely finds some textures interesting and others uncomfortable, and he hates socks for this reason. His speech is heavily impaired, and he can’t form full sentences outside of echolalia, repeating a phrase that represents how he feels at the moment without being able to specifically say what he’s feeling. He heard someone once say, “You’re killin’ me, here!” when they didn’t want to do something, and it became a go-to phrase for him to repeat.
I’m disgusted by all of you who think this was well-deserved. Shame on you. If it turns out this kid is not high-functioning, I hope you all feel like dirtbags.
your friend needs to make sure his kid doesn’t touch/break other people’s stuff then.
Now he is an autistic kid who knows that some people won’t put up with his crap! That fact that the kid was cowering and all of that tells me that he knew what he did was wrong.

we never had them in our schools. Back when I was in school they were still being bussed to their own school. I knew it was a mistake to mainstream them and said so now I’ve been proven correct.
Kids were bullies when I was in school and they did not stop the bullies back then. Now you have special needs kids in the mix getting bulled and of course the school does nothing just as worse as before.
I dunno maybe the guy’s lawyer will get ICE sent out on them and they will all get deported.
AGREED-—Hood ornaments—such as are still around are Spring loaded.
