Well put. I didn't know old George III was senile, but certainly stupid and controlling. Look what Great Britain lost.

George III wasn’t all that old or senile in 1775. Those came later in his long life. He was the first born in England king in a long time and the English people were fond of him. But both he and Parliament were insistent that the Colonies allowed themselves to be governed by England. The colonists, insisted on their right as Englishmen to govern and tax themselves.
