The Karen Read case has ended in a mistrial after five days of jury deliberation, but prosecutors said they will retry Read for the alleged murder of her Boston cop boyfriend in January 2022.
Judge Beverly Cannone ruled Monday that the deadlocked jury in Dedham, Massachusetts, is not able to reach a unanimous verdict after jurors sent her notes on Friday and again on Monday that they disagree because of “deeply-held convictions that each of us carry.”
The jury foreman, in his final note to the judge, said, “Our perspectives on the evidence are starkly divided. Some members of the jury firmly believe that the evidence surpasses the burden of proof establishing the elements of the charges beyond a reasonable doubt. Conversely others find the evidence fails to meet this standard and does not sufficiently establish the necessary elements of the charges.”

I also think she was framed. I would love to know how the jury voted.
Her defense team was excellent.
I followed it pretty closely as well. It was at best, a seriously botched investigation, and at worst, a coverup and frame job. I’m leaning towards the latter. I’ve heard there were possibly two attorneys and one retired LEO on the jury. O’Keefe was not killed by any SUV, and the state police witnesses were by far some of the worst witnesses I’ve ever seen on the stand.

Yes, as clearly explained by the two FBI witnesses (the jury did not know they had been FBI witnesses as the judge would not allow that) it was impossibly that O’Keefe has been struck by Karen’s vehicle as alleged by the prosecution. And a number of the prosecution witnesses were clearly making things up to fit with the prosecutor’s narrative. Trooper Paul (their “expert” accident reconstructionist) was particularly inept at this.
I’m not as convinced as several here to her innocence
So all the defense would have to do is poison the jury (either figuratively or literally) and you’d let a guilty person walk?
Me either.
And idiots who quite literally would not recognize a german shepherd bite if it was on their own arm.
I don’t know if she hit him with her car or not. I do know that there was reasonable doubt galore in the case.
She should have been acquitted on that metric alone.
I followed the case well enough to deduce something happened in the house he was found in front of dead.
The State has virtually unlimited resources with which to pursue a prosecution. The defendant has very little with which to defend himself and will likely be financially ruined even by an acquittal.

And “lead investigator” Trooper Proctor has now been relieved of duty. He and his corrupt boss were the primary executors of the coverup/frame. The Massachusetts State Police have been anxiously waiting for the “right time” to get him the hell out of Dodge.

she sure looks guilty

You can’t be serious.
Jesus warned us against the deception of the last days (Matthew 24:4; 2 Timothy 3:13).
Boy howdy, he was not kidding.
Yes, I’m serious.
