I say if you can't remember the last time then maybe you never had it? The flu is something one doesn't forget. I had it in 1994 and will never forget. I've had stomach bugs since but nothing like the flu. Or perhaps it was a new strain that hit me in 1994? Whatever, it was a week of misery.
Agreed. My mother had the Hong Kong Flu (1968, I think?), and nearly died from it.
It's my understanding that the flu mutates every year. Sort of like a viral "self-preservation instinct" to avoid eradication. And that's just "legitimate" flu. No telling what's built into "manufactured" flu strain(s).
I had it around 68 so bad I was immersed screaming in a bathtub of ice water. My dad asked a priest if he could baptize me himself he thought it was so bad.
I remember last time I had the flu — 1966.
