When hubby came back from Nam, he did not tell us he was coming home, had a big welcome home sign to put up too.
When he got to the airport, he was waiting for a bus and a fellow pulled up and said hey soldier, where are you headed?
He said I’m headed home. The fellow said, where are you coming from?
Hubby said Vietnam. The fellow said get in I’ll drive you home. 50 miles.
He went to Nam when our firstborn was 3 weeks old.
Watching the presser was very depressing for me.
I turned to hubby and said, when your country called, you went and this is what we have.
