MileHi, I felt that way myself, until I started thinking about what a good foil he would be for Trump’s “shoot from the hip” - Lay ‘em out in Lavender” style.
Then I started thinking about Carson’s background, and how tough he had to be to overcome his young life in the ghetto, his arduous track through college, medical school and the prerequisite residencies then his incredible success as a surgeon, specializing in the toughest problems in neurological/brain surgery, even on tiny babies and children.
I started thinking about the families he had to deal with, hospital politics, peer jealousies, review boards, and all that goes with such a public and tough profession.
He has developed a mild demeanor, but it is masking a highly intelligent and well trained mind that is capable of making lightening fast conclusions to complex problems, and equally fast reflexes in controlling and reacting correctly in a high stress environment.
I think he may be the right man for the job, if Trump selects him. He seems to have mastered the jungle at HUD, an agency reputed to be highly political and corrupt.
Is his “mild manner” masking a will of iron, nerves of steel, and tactical power that he has learned to use strategically when the occasion requires bold action? I do not know, but it stikes me as a possibility that his humble nature may make him appear to be “takeable”, but his career doesnt suggest that - in fact, it suggests the opposite.
Time will tell, and all we can do is to trust God, and hope that Trump follows His will and guidance when making the choice.
I will certainly take your comments under consideration.
Also, beware the wrath of a "quiet man". Some of the most fearsome warriors in human history were soft-spoken and mild-mannered.

Oh, my heavens, jacquej, I am glad that I clicked on “View Replies” before I gave my answer about Carson. You have covered it perfectly, and your response is much more eloquent than mine would have been.
I just wish to add that, once Trump has passed the torch, he will have drained the Swamp, so we will no longer be in need of such a pugnacious leader.
