Yes, an abortion can continue after birth. It occurs in this context: Let’s assume a child survives the abortion procedure. Do the doctors and nurses have an obligation to give the same level of care they would to any other newborn? And if they don’t - they help a “wanted” baby live but an “unwanted” baby is ignored and allowed to die. What are the consequences, both civil and criminal? Republicans have tried to add legislation to mandate the babies be treated the same. Dems universally appose this. Some states give immunity to medical professionals who let the “unwanted” baby die where that would not be the case for a “wanted” baby.

Trump did not lie here.

How do Dems justify letting the “unwanted” baby die? It’s out of the mother’s body at that point. It’s no longer “inconveniencing” her. Why not let it live and try to find someone to adopt it?
