He ran for some kind of land commissioner office in Texas. After his loss, he attributed it to one of his great pearls of wisdom:

He did more than that. He ran for Governor of Texas in the anti-Republican year of 2006 and got over 10% of the vote as a comic-relief independent candidate. Rick Perry won with less than 40%.
