The Russians consider Crimea theirs… Catherine the Great's incorporation of the Crimea in 1783 into the Russian Empire.

And Estonia was "incorporated" into the Russian Empire in 1710. So what?

discuss with Russia to form a Peace Treaty.

LOL, so this peace treaty Putin will honor? Okay

Why did Finland withdraw from their 50+ year treaty on neutrality with Russia, and join NATO?

Ukraine already signed a peace deal with Putin in 2003, that he broke, “Treaty Between the Russian Federation and Ukraine on the Russian–Ukrainian State Border”. It set Ukraine’s borders as they were in 1991 & was lodged with the UN.

Putin once said Crimea was Ukraine and he’d not invade Ukraine. His word is worthless.

Putin-"Crimea Is Not a Disputed Territory, Russia Recognizes the Borders of Ukraine"

If Russia armed an enemy of the US with advanced weapons and then helped to plan an attack in which American women and children were killed on a beach in Florida, I would expect America to retaliate. The reverse is happening when America arms Ukraine.

Apparently James Baker and every US Leader’s word since then is also worthless. Our leaders are on the verge of Nuclear War, anti no hiding from that if missiles start to fly.

Good question...why forgo seventy five years of peaceful coexistence and economic ties that survived Soviet communism and the Cold war?

A combination of incompetent Finnish leadership, Anglo gaslighting, and EU coercion would be my guess. A little bit ironic considering how badly the Finns misread Soviet intentions during their negotiations in 1939.

Clausula rebus sic stantibus. There was the Maidan revolution in 2014.
