Good job, BB!
(Didn’t this slut start out sort of OK and reasonable?)
She did. She was a young musical prodigy, evolving from a talented singer/songwriter to a capable musician, businesswoman, and of course, eventually superstar performer. Around the time of the "Speak Now" tour (2010) I actually purchased a DVD of the show, which was frankly outstanding in all respects.
That said, I don't care for her voice (though I admit it's good), or her subject matter (though I admit it's very popular). As a life-long musician myself, I acknowledge her talent and business smarts.
For a very long time she resisted the pressure to "pick a side" politically. She had grown up with a good-sized following in Country music as well as adolescent/teen female relationship songs, and didn't want to blow it by alienating half of her followers.
That eventually changed, for whatever reason, I don't know and don't care. She declared herself aligned with the Left, and that was the end of any interest I or others who had given her the benefit of the doubt had in her. At this point she can KMA.
So, yeah, she started out really well, and then BLEW IT big-time. "Shut up and sing/play" seems to have been lost on her. Sic Transit Tay-Tay.
