These people should have that canoe confiscated for their own good...it could very possibly save lives.
Reminds me of the time a couple of years ago we saw a pickup truck pull out of Lowes with a brand new refrigerator, upright and not tied down.
It was tipping when they made the left turn, but righted itself.
Two miles down the road we again saw the truck, this time on the side of the road, the refrigerator was in the ditch busted all to hell..................
