I’m a big fan of the ramaswampy dude.

He’s really articulate and focused. Knows what we want to hear. Up to this point I don’t believe he has the weight or the stones to pull it off. I’d be happy to be proven wrong over time. He’s got great plans, but no plan survives first contact with the enemy.

Unlike Tulsi, Reagan didn’t hold elected office as a Democrat, run for president as a Democrat, lose the Democratic primary and suddenly became a conservative. He gradually moved to the right as a private citizen, worked for Republican candidates, ran for office as a Republican, ran unsuccessfully in two Republican primaries, eventually becoming the nominee.

I think Tulsi as well. I can say too that my conversion a couple decades ago was real and sincere too. Sometimes you wake up and see the grass is actually greener in the other side of the fence.

He's an important part of the movement at this point because of all that.

Absolutely.

I just don't think (for the reason I gave) that he will be Trump's running mate. I do believe though that Vivek will serve in a very high public-exposure role in the campaign and new administration.

A running mate mustn't distract attention from the presidential candidate, whether intentionally or not. The person selected as VP candidate must bring value...and absolutely no risk. Vivek brings the risk that he is so good that he will suck oxygen out of the campaign by diverting attention to himself and away from Trump.

My bracket has Ramaswamy going to Commerce.

I have Burgum at Energy, but he could be VP.

Gabbard isn't on my card, but she might be a good fit to run the VA if President Trump wants her in his administration somewhere.

That’s interesting re: Gabbard to the VA, she would be a good fit there.

I hope President Trump puts Tara Reade on the front row as well as the families of the victims who were killed by Bidet’s crimmigrants.

Not quite as you described, but realize Trump went from democrat to R just as quickly, and also ran for President first.

Not a disqualification.

Trump badly fumbled his Vice President choice in 2016 and 2020.

My impression - Trump has learned NOTHING about appointing GOP political staff or GOP Executive Branch leadership since he started campaigning for the GOP nomination in 2015.

I’ll repeat myself…

There is a basic reality in terms of the Presidential candidacy, and by proxy Veep.

Over the years, The Presidency went from a job where the nation wanted a guy who had ideas and leadership qualities, to sort of like the slot for lead singer in Van Halen.

You can have a killer frontman like David Lee Roth, who excites and slays live and propels the band creatively, but who is a trainwreck in terms of everything else.

You can get Sammy Hagar, who is ultra competent but not terribly motivating and not your primary pick for frontman.

Then there is Gary Cherone, who is great in Extreme but lost in VH.

Trump is Diamond Dave. Bidet is Cherone. DeSantis is Sammy.

Personally, I would rather we get a Sammy president. DeSantis was Sammy, but he sort of flopped once he moved out of 2,000-seat venues to Madison Square Garden.

Reagan was Sammy, with a touch of DLR like when he joked about bombing the Soviets and “there you go again…”

That was then. In 2024, the nation and populism want Diamond Dave. And Dave is unifying people like nobody-look at the rappers with Trump in The Bronx. It’s stunning.

America isn’t voting for competency anymore. We are voting for the Frontman of America. Parenthetically, the American People are Eddie, Michael, and Alex-a monster band that is invariant to the guy in the singer slot.

And that’s ok - maybe we NEED a Frontman more than a vocalist right now.

But we need to be honest with ourselves. Trump is a train wreck in terms of personnel choices, and he can get carried away with social media. True, we got solid SCOTUS picks and abortion overturned, a cranking economy, and no wars. But after Eat ‘Em & Smile, Dave jumped the shark.

And Trump will win the Diamond Dave vote, which will be drawn to a guy who just lost a case. Bidet will get the Gary Cherone vote (and again, Cherone is awesome with Extreme).

As for Veep, it’s the same deal…we want a red meat Frontman or Frontwoman. Not a policy wonk, not a businessman, etc.

The closest Veep candidate meeting that need, is Elise Stefanik. She’s got TWO Ivy League scalps, and she hasn’t wiped the blood off her mouth. Experience? RINO? That’s what they said about Trump in 2015.

That is why as qualified as the other Veep candidates may be, like it or not Elise Lee Roth is what will garner votes. And perhaps Elise is Wolfgang, and can let us get two tours with Eddie and Roth before the band terminates.

Make her VP, Trump wins, and she clobbers whatever jack wagon the Dems put up in 2028, like Kamala or some other Cherone.

Listen to Vivek getting interviewed by Charlie Kirk at the TPUSA Convention in Detroit, the whole thing is good.  However the part where slicing the putrid agencies to pieces starts at 27:00.  Even shuttering them for good and how it is done.  If we are to recover America to any measurable degree this is where we start.

“And Trump doesn’t want Vivek to stifle it. Ergo, Vivek might be selected to be press secretary after the inauguration.”

pfffft press secretary... I don’t know if it is remembered that Trump used to handle the bulk of his own press briefings, and his stupid tweets, which I thought was weird. I like the guy, but always thought that Presidents should probably handle the executive level stuff and not the chatter.

If Ramaswami gets offered the opportunity to serve as press secretary he should turn it down. Press secretaries are mere sycophantic propaganda minions for most administrations.

Trump realizes that this time is different. He realizes that the country is at war with itself. He realizes that he will have to delegate like never before if the country is to be saved from those who are trying to destroy it.

If Trump says to Vivek, "If you take this job, you can make of it what you wish as long as you stay on course with our objective of saving the country and stay loyal to the administration. You can 'Go forth and destroy the media enemy that is trying to destroy us.'"

That would be an amazing job opportunity for Vivek. And I believe he would accept it.

Reagan was great but his choice of VP hurt the country afterwards. We need a VP that will be a great replacement when the time comes.
