Or he was hot. It looks hot in that picture.
I wasn’t a bronc rider but trained a few horses. One time I bought a beautiful Arab with four stockings and a blaze. He was able to do a few tricks like bow and would come to you and move for you to get on him. I loved this horse but he had a bad habit of bucking you off no matter how long it took over the slightest disturbance. I thought I could ride it out of him and ended up with a lot of bruises. One day I put the saddle on him and he started bucking without me even on him. I happened to see his eyes while he bucked. They were crazed. That was it I traded the horse for a Missouri Foxtrotter to a man that thought it was just me and he could ride him.
Not that big of a deal, other than the hat in the air the horses and riders strike that pose about 20 times per ride don’t they?
Yeah - I was finding lots of things that were off. But reading the article, the photo just proves how getting something that full of raw nature is difficult to recreate.
Not like those 30-somethings posing for the camera to recreate a shot from when they were grade-school kids.
Those small-town rodeos are the best!
Agreed - I was just joking about the bent arm. The line drawing/silhouette of the state logo is actually pretty well thought out in that it represents a scene that is common enough to be pretty much instantly recognizable by virtually any person, yet carries a degree of drama that makes it very special to those for whom it was designed.
I'm just an 70 yr's old fat guy who owned a horse back in the late 1970's, back in Long Island, New York. An Appaloosa, named Patches. We had a great relationship, I knew ever time I got on him, Patches would try to kill me. He came close one day when riding him in this State park (approx. 1000 acres) came to a fork in the trail that was marked with 3 tires stacked vertical (with a stick in the center, held a sign) the horse had passed this sign no lie at less a hundred times, then one day, full gallop I steer for say lane one, he sees I guess for the first time the tires, and got scared, and went for lane two. In my best (Famous Sports Broadcaster) Howard Cosell voice: DOWN GOES FRAZSER (me being thrown from the horse.) Thank GOD for the natural LONG ISLAND white sand, (sand grit like you would use in a kids play sand-box) made for a easier / softer tumble. The horse was nice that day, he only made me chase him for approx. 300 feet. You could call it a two for one special.
ONLY ONE HAND ALLOWED ON THE ROPE.
If this is a bronco riding competition, then it makes perfect sense. If it is a cowboy trying to break a bronco, then not so much.

We were just kiddin’ around. Great photo.
No - I get the joking around. Just interesting on how difficult the shot was to get. I obviously never thought about it - but I would have figured it wasn’t that uncommon until he explained it.
Reminds me a little of the thread about the NBA logo modeled after a photo of Jerry West.
