All the talk about whether Joe Biden can stand for the "debate"
(How can you debate another if you're not allowed to talk to the other ?)
leads me to wonder and question whether hypnotism might be a way to make a zombie appear alive with a brain.

I watched a true crime story yesterday where a short, fat, toad-like, completely unattractive, pimply married preacher was having multiple simultaneous affairs with many married women in his church. Some were gorgeous, with a strong faith, and typically would not give this creature a second look.
Interviewing the women later, they really can’t understand why it happened. It’s like they snapped out of a trance.
Oh, and the preacher murdered his wife. (Of course.)
“Children can walk, talk, have eyes open and still be in a trance.”
So can husbands. They also can’t hear you.
LOL... So True.. But that takes years of practice. 😁
I suspicion the answer to be "NO" simply because you probably need to have NORMAL COGNATIVITY.
Self-hypnosis is quite real. I went into a state of self hypnosis twice a week for years in order to write humor columns. My technique was to write down ideas for each column in no particular order. Then I would just relax usually by walking and in a state of self-hypnosis my mind would write the stories. Then I would play it back like a tape and write what my mind dictated.

My father-in-law tells the story that when he joined the navy and they tested his hearing, he couldn’t hear the frequency of his mother’s voice.

My Dr. asked me if I wanted my hearing tested, I looked at my wife and started laughing and said a loud NO.
The techniques are different with resistant people. You must turn their defenses within them.
One powerful way is to observe something that they are already doing and inform them that what they ate doing is a sign that they are hypnotized.
They will be so careful to not do what you observed them doing that they become vulnerable and presto, they are in a trance.

It is also potentially very dangerous. I found that I could reprogram people’s consciousnness that sometimes resulted in profound personality changes that were permanent.

It was too much power and at my low level of human understanding, as playing God was potentially very dangerous. So I stopped using hypnosis many years ago and turned to Prayer as a tool. Now, in Prayer, I merely ask God to help, and the boss makes the important decisions.
There was a transition perood for me where I was using Prayer with people while they were in deep trance. That’s where I observed the profound miracles happen.
Years ago, I guided a woman who was in a deep dark depression into trance. We were merely holding each other’s hands (both hands) and together saying the Lord’s Prayer out loud, when a demonic spirit came out of her, hit me in the chest, and sent me flying backwards into the wall. It felt like someone shoved a 2x4 through my chest.
After this, she felt fine. I did not. It took me a week of Prayer to get rid of it.
After it was pushed out of me, it tried moving back into her. She was many miles away in her home when her right hand became cramped. The cramping moved up her arm until the entire right side of her body was paralyzed. Her family thought she was having a stroke.
After experiencing much pain and frustration, she remembered my words to her from the day of our session. I told her that if she felt severe cramping in her hands or feet, she was to immediately start saying the Lord’s Prayer out loud. She did, and it pushed the demonic spirit out of her body. It hung around her house for a few days causing problems, and then left.
Let’s just say that we both had a difficult and painful learning experience. Thanks be to God for intervening.
