And mine as well.
Both are acceptable to a point.
People living in areas where people can die of poverty (Britain, Scandanavia, Minnesota) have long been willing to accept some sort of welfare system.
But we have gone way beyond the point of Marxist necessity. Not only do Biden voters expect government to give them a roof over their heads, but a roof in a prime neighborhood in a prime climatic region.
Marx also expected people to contribute and not sit around smoking pot.
Actually, Blacks were prevented from voting due to Jim Crow laws. Even when they were able to vote in large numbers starting in the 1960s, they are mostly concentrated in urban strongholds and they are only 13% of the population today.
Regarding "democracy", perhaps we should go to Starship Troopers' political system where only "citizens" can vote, not civilians.
You and I do not share the same values, but I am definitely not trying to embarrass FR.
That proves the 19th amendment was a mistake that needs to be fixed in the form of repealing.
“government subsidized higher education for females”
It is not clear that higher education should be government subsidized.
A nurse or teacher will get a paid job after graduation and have the ability to pay back a student loan.
Higher education that does not given the ability to repay its costs is not of sufficient quality.
Promotion of multiculturalism. It creates low trust societies where too many people view America as an economic zone rather than a nation.
Media in general. The rot precedes social media, promoted in movies and pop culture and the cult of celebrity that glorified homosexuality and a dependency-based lifestyle. But social media and the internet has undoubtedly accelerated the rate of decline.
We won't be able to fix it. It'll even get worse now because less women are getting married therefore they'll become more dependent on the government.
As others are pointing out, this post bad and wrong and the people commenting in favor of your idea that educating women leads to cultural rot puts you are par with the Tabiban. Nice.
But that is not what FR is about, nor 99% of us here. This post should be deleted, you should be zotted, and those who have supported your Taliban-esque bigotry should seriously reflect on what they are thinking and why.
Weak and/or compromised clergy.
Men used to work close to home and their kids were with them. Dad would teach his children along the way, when he was lying down and when he rose up. It was not just mom while dad was off building a "career" and when he came home he was tired and the children should not bother him.
At some point in the 1800s it became acceptable for men to leave their families behind to do other things. Oh they would come back to bring presents and father another child or two and then they would be gone again. Not all men, but a good number. And as the decades rolled on men began to be gone more and more and their interaction with their children became less and less.
Finally men just left. And that was acceptable too as long as they gave money.
Fathers went from interacting with their children many times daily to wallets with legs.
“I don’t think males and females should be considered equal in the eyes of the law and gender discrimination should be (il)legal.”
(I assume you meant “illegal”)
If so, years ago I had an interesting experience. A co-worker brought me the Help wanted ads from a newspaper in Singapore, and showed me one in particular. The ad said something like “Receptionist Wanted”, and then REQUIRED applicants to be Chinese (there are lots of non-Chinese Singapore citizens). My first reaction, via Western Media brainwashing, to be horrified. Then I got to thinking about it - and it actually HELPS the non-Chinese, as they know not to waste their time even responding. Perhaps that’s partly why Singapore has a killer economy, no need for pretenses?
Try some basic math, why don’t you:
.8 x .13 = 4
.04 x .51 = .0204
Sometimes I think Freepers shouldn’t be allowed to vote.
Typo: .4, not 4
I just don’t think the government should be “educating” anybody.
I’d allow for basic literacy for the purpose of common defense (can’t much raise an illiterate army these days). Basic civics basic math. That’s it.
Impressed with your knowledge of actual history.
Some of the first books published after the Bible were books on fathering.
“I don’t think males and females should be considered equal in the eyes of the law and gender discrimination should be legal.”
Most women are sound. Most men would have great cause for sorrow if that were not so.
What needs to be done is to limit the power of government to its necessary and proper place in American life.
