A two year degree in political science should NOT grant you legal U.S. residency.
I’m for legal immigration. We should welcome skilled people who can strengthen our republic & who subscribe to the values enshrined in our Constitution.

If Trump stops the 10’s of millions of unvetted from coming across our wide open southern border who cares about a few thousand properly vetted foreign students? I sure as hell don’t care. Trump is trying to make deals with the power brokers. Let him make the deals he needs to make to get elected.

Guess you didn’t listen to the video. He said “Junior Colleges”. I did not hear “political science”, though, so I assumed he meant any subject as long as you graduate. Women’s Studies In Timbuktu? (He may have said it later. I admit I turned it off ‘cause I was so mad.)

Absolutely NO polysci degreed people, no lawyers, nor anybody with a “studies” degree, nor anybody found at any protests.
In fact, limit it to ENGINEERS only.

Massie was spot on and Trump needs to revise his policy to be a bit more selective to ensure that only highly qualified people who bring special talents to the table are included in the H1B visa program.
This was the original intent of the program back in the day and the program worked extremely well. I
It was also very difficult to get even a highly qualified MIT or Stanford level foreign PhD grad through the system and the track record of these early H1B recipients is amazing.
That said, the H1B visa program has been badly abused to bring in large numbers of unqualified and problematic workers in recent years and needs to be reformed.

Agree. Except I’d go with no foreign people at all for maybe 20 years and see how that works out. I don’t trust ANY of them anymore.
Tourists visiting overseas countries could interview potential immigrants.
We’d do a pretty good job interviewing potential Americans.

Not that I agree with Trump, but the statement I read said that Trump wanted to give them green cards to work here. I did not read that Trump wanted to grant them citizenship. Correct me if I am wrong. But this seems to be fake news.
No degree should at this point.
We need to broadly expel while avoiding intake for a significant period of time while we try to resuscitate our country.
Trump is having a bit of a Boomer moment but I’ll give him the benefit of doubt and hopefully he clarifies what he meant

President Donald Trump's campaign team is rewriting his Thursday night promise to grant green cards to any foreign graduates of four-year universities and two-year community colleges.
President Trump believes “we ought to keep the most skilled graduates who can make significant contributions to America … who would never undercut American wages or workers,” said the statement from spokeswoman Katherine Leavitt.
