For those not in the aviation world, the word “Airmen” and “Airman” are terms of the art in official FAA and other government documents to refer to pilots.

For example adverse weather alerts and other relevant information affecting safe operation of an aircraft are listed in “NOTAMS to Airmen”

These DEI morons are demanding a re write of Federal Aviation laws and documents for no good reason.

Objecting to the word cockpit is just silly, stupid DEI garbage with no basis in reality. Changing basic traditional aviation terminology is a passive aggressive method for DEI zealots to exert power over others and impose their will and their agenda on other people.

The FAA changed NOTAMS to “Notice of Air Mission.” Silly.

“Airman” is defined by Federal Aviation Act of 1958. It includes pilots, mechanics, and other licensed personnel. I have been in aviation since 1980. At that time I knew women pilots and more are entering the system. Back then we were more interested in proving our ability than worrying about terminology.
