Good movie, Fargo...
I have a table saw but rarely use it. My brother in law is a shop teacher and he fought for year for the district to replace the saws with sawstops and after 5 years they finally relented. They will pay for themselves if just one injury is prevented.
Came here for that pic! Thanks.
Not everybody was happy about it 😏
Are there any wood chipper accidents that aren’t tragic? No idea.
“Not sure what the difference between an electric battery powered motor spinning a chain or a 2 cycle engine spinning a chain.
It is the sharpened carbide teeth that cuts you. Not the engine.”
When I was told chaps don’t work well on electric saws, such saws were new and old timers were looking for reasons not to like them. According to some current tests it seems the chaps work fine with them. See below.
At least he didn’t suffer.
Almost all commercial cabinet shops and lumber yard mill work shops switched to SawStop table saws as soon as they came out.
It saved them enough in liability insurance to pay itself off in about 5 years.
Not to mention having OSHA shut down your operation for a few days to do an accident investigation.
