United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) said on Tuesday that the Greek-owned coal carrier MV Tutor, struck by Houthi missiles and an unmanned surface vehicle (USV) on July 12, has sunk in the Red Sea.
The Tutor became the second ship sunk by the Iran-backed Yemeni terrorists since they began their campaign of wanton attacks on commercial shipping in November. It also appears to have been the first ship to be severely damaged by a Houthi USV attack. The weapon was evidently a remote-controlled small boat packed with explosives.

Along with ownership not meaning anything, I don’t recall saying it was a British problem.

Point being, that was ship full of coal. Coal can be quite important to some folks. It could fuel for a power plant providing electricity to people.
Hard to believe that Yemen hasn’t been told to stop all of this. And if they need some help, before sending Tier 1 elements, no reason Predators and Raptors aren’t blowing these people to smithereens.

What’s the significance of July 12?
Most of Britain’s imports and exports travel through the Suez Canal, which is why Britain has retained a sovereign base in Cyprus and has reopened a base in the UAE. It is very much in the UK interest for access to the Suez Canal be unimpeded, perhaps more so than it is for the US, which has easy access to most of it’s major trading partners directly over the Atlantic or the Pacific without having to traverse choke points.
This is further confirmation that this is NOT about somehow stopping Israel in Gaza. That is just the cover story. This last sinking has virtually nothing to do with Europe or the USA.
What these attacks are really about is destabilizing or at least weakening Egypt / El-Sisi. As an added bonus, if next winter is a cold one, Europe could see LNG shortages that definitely would drive inflation and instability in some countries. Never forget that the mullah’s enemies, or people to be used or enslaved however it is done, are the infidels. Any of them. And the Houthis are just a tool to that end...
If that was the case, we’d send several more AD destroyers and defend a lot more cargo ships, using up many more missiles in the process. It’s not like that would deter the Houthis in any fashion, and it would not affect the supply of Iranian weapons getting to the Houthis.
Actually taking out the Houthis would require much greater US expenditure for arms. This Administration has no appetite for that, and you know it. They are exactly what they appear: A bunch of old hippies and political hacks who are afraid to take on the problem head on, and don’t know what to do except kick the can down the road.
