Just got an emergency message on my phone, around 2:22. Early message at 1:56 PM from MIT/LL that 911 was down for the local area.

Just managing statistics. Nothing to see here. The new 6911 number to call in thought crimes, insulting neighbors with differing viewpoints, and obstacles to gender reassignment, are all still fully functioning.

Consolidation of regional 911 has to be one of the dumbest things I’ve seen.
A system like this should not get overwhelmed in one place and out all over the state. This is basic telecom 101.

Yup. They knew this 50 years ago when they were starting the internet — I’m sure the phone company knew if even before that. Here we are in the 21st century and putting all our eggs in one basket suddenly seems like a swell idea.

And…modern telecom systems dont get “overwhelmed”. There should be nearly infinite incoming “channels” (they dont use copper lines anymore.). Someone is getting their rear end chewed out right now.
